Pearson, the world’s largest schooling firm, has come underneath fire this week for a web page in one in every of its nursing textbooks — which features racist stereotypes about minorities. First, Pearson promotes The Studying Curve as an ‘open and dwelling database’ that will encourage ‘proof-knowledgeable schooling policy’ and assist ‘identify the common elements of effective schooling.’ What is less clear to the consumer is that The Studying Curve was constructed by the Economist Intelligence Unit (until lately owned by Pearson) whose expertise is in economic forecasting, enterprise intelligence and national comparability.
